Komal Gopwani is an architect with a keen interest in theory, history and architecture in the public realm. She was an integral part of The Anganwadi Project at Ahmedabad between 2012-14 that worked with community participation to build pre-schools in the neighbourhood.
Komal Gopwani graduated from Smt. Manoramabai Mundle College of Architecture, Nagpur. She was awarded the Best Graduating Student Award for the 2011 batch. She completed her post-graduation from CEPT University in Theory and Design in 2013. Her Master's thesis discussing the societal role of architecture was published by the CEPT University press as a monograph titled 'Architectural Expressions People, Time, Ideologies'. Following her Masters, she completed a month-long Portfolio Advancement Course at the Siena Institute of Art, Italy.
In her 5 years of professional work experience, Komal has worked as an architect with Arya Architects, Ahmedabad, and as an Associate and Senior Associate with RMA Architects, Mumbai. She has worked on a range of projects including public transport, institutions, housing, museums and private residences. Komal has assisted history and theory courses at CEPT University in 2014. Komal has a keen interest in writing and research.
